What to expect after you reach out

How Our Network Works

Who You Talk To

You speak with an independent provider in our network. That is a local pest control or wildlife business that serves your area. It is not an employee of Causeoccupied Pest Control.

We do not list individual people on this site. What matters is the business that shows up at your home. You can ask that business for its name, license details and proof of insurance.

What Happens After You Reach Out

First, you share the basics. Next, a provider contacts you. Then you talk through the problem.

Expect questions like:

  • What pest or animal have you seen?
  • Where in the home did you see it?
  • How long has it been going on?
  • Have you tried anything yet?
  • Is anyone in the home sensitive to products, such as children or pets?

Photos can help. So can a short list of dates and places.

What to Ask a Provider

Use this checklist on the first conversation:

1. Are you licensed in Florida for this kind of work? 2. Do you carry liability insurance? 3. What exactly will you do, step by step? 4. Which products or methods do you use, and are they safe around pets? 5. What will I need to do before and after the visit? 6. Is the price written down, and what could change it? 7. Is there a follow-up visit or a service plan, and what does it include? 8. How soon can you come? Availability varies, so ask directly.

Write down the answers. Compare at least two providers if time allows.

Safe to DIY, or Hand It Off?

A good provider tells you honestly. Some jobs are small. Sealing a gap, clearing clutter or fixing a leaking pipe may be Safe to DIY. Termites, rodent infestations in walls, bed bug treatment and wildlife removal usually need professional tools and training.

You Are in Control

Contacting a provider does not commit you to anything.

  • You can say no to a quote.
  • You can ask for changes in the plan.
  • You can ask for more time.
  • You can get a second opinion.

Typical costs vary by job, home size and pest type. Always get a written quote before work begins.
